Check Out Our Anthology and Journal Opportunities
We can not thank you enough for all our submissions over the last few years. Anthologies put Quillkeepers Press on the map. They are a cornerstone of our organization. Our purpose has always been to uplift writers, help broaden their audiences, and help guide them toward their goals. Over the years, our anthologies have changed. They now include a small submission fee to help cover the cost of production. We also have around 3 opportunities a year versus our older style of 6. This creates room for other traditional, hybrid, and self-publishing projects. However, staying true to our mission and purpose, we will always reserve space for our beloved anthologies.
2024 Fall Chapbook Competition
Quillkeepers Press, LLC is holding a poetry chapbook competition to be released by Fall 2024. We will choose 1-3 winners. Those selected will be given 5 free copies of the chapbook, as well as a standard publishing contract. We do not have a specific theme in mind, we just want something that grabs us by the throat and dares to never let go. Captivate us with your words! Please keep in mind that while we are not looking for a designated theme, your work should have a central theme to it. For example, please do not send a manuscript that includes love poetry and mental health poetry. We set a deadline of March 30th, 2024 for the submission window, but will close early if we find the ideal manuscript, or extend the deadline if we do not. Our goal release dates for these collections will be Sept-Oct 2024.
*PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED WORK IS NOT ACCEPTED FOR OUR TRADITIONAL PUBLISHING OPPORTUNITIES. WHETHER IT BE SINGULAR PIECES IN THE COLLECTION OR THE ENTIRE MANUSCRIPT. PLEASE READ OUR GUIDELINES THOROUGHLY. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL DISQUALIFY YOUR SUBMISSION.
*** It is very important to read the FAQ's on this project. We have to put this together in a very specific manner due to time restraints and the programs we are using, if the submission doesn't follow the guidelines it will be rejected. You can find the FAQ's in the "submit here" link below.
Grief Anthology 2024
In 2021, our EIC lost her 20-year-old son and her stepmother only a day apart. She then lost her younger brother at the beginning of 2022. Realizing that grief and loss are human conditions we all must face, she wanted to find a way to honor the loved ones we've lost as a collective. Our hope for this collection is to honor those we've lost and comfort those still grieving. Send you essays, memoirs, short stories, and poetry about grief for consideration.
Mythology Anthology 2024
We seek essays, memoirs, short stories, and poetry inspired by your favorite mythological story, character, beast, plant, planet, or inanimate object. Tell us about Cronus swallowing his children, Icarus flying too close to the sun, and Persephone's rule as Queen of the Underworld. Tell us about the Phoenix, Chimera, Minotaur, Pegasus, the Tree of Life, or any other mythologically based folklore your imagination can conjure up.

There will be an opportunity to make small changes for grammatical mistakes during the rough draft phase. Please hold off on those requests until then.
